Pitching Rankings

A.J. Burnett
C.J. Wilson

John Lackey
James Shields
Ryan Vogelsong
Eduardo Rodriguez

We have a lot of very average pitching options tonight in this late slate. There is no real clear cut ace situation here but A.J. Burnett grabs the top spot against the Cardinals which seems a little a crazy picking on one of the best teams in baseball. The Cardinals are striking out at an alarming rate and we have a nice pitchers park tonight at PNC. C.J. Wilson has a ton of upside because the Angels let him throw a ton of pitches if things are going well. One thing to note is this is obviously the last start for these guys before the All-Star break so they might have longer leashes tonight if things are going well.

Catcher Rankings

Buster Posey – Easily the top play at catcher.
Yasmani Grandal
Wilson Ramos

Catcher will almost certainly depend on lineup spot tonight.

1st Base Rankings

David Ortiz – Ortiz is the top play at 1B tonight against a struggling Ivan Nova
Brett Wallace – Decent punt play if he is in the lineup in a big park shift against Colby Lewis
Adam Lind
Prince Fielder – James Shields gives up a ton of long balls.

2nd Base Rankings

Scooter Gennett – Check the lineup spot here. We are looking for top 4.
Jimmy Paredes – Paredes finally gets to face a RHP so he his back in the 2 hole.
Rougned Odor – Nice tournament play against Shields

3rd Base Rankings

Matt Duffy – Duffy is a player we are slow to come around on but he is worthy of a look tonight on a shorter slate.
Pablo Sandoval – Sandoval continues to hit 6th which is a little hit to his value but great play against Nova.
Manny Machado Solid play leading off if you have the cap space.
